And there’s no better way to spice up your wood oven pizza night than by making your own dough. It can sound intimidating, but once you try it out, you’ll find that it’s worth it!

To start, you’ll need one teaspoon of active dry yeast, two and a half cups of all-purpose flour, a half of a teaspoon of salt, two teaspoons of sugar, two tablespoons of olive oil, and a cup of slightly warm water. Mix your dry ingredients together, then add in water gradually, folding in a small amount of flour as you do so. After this, add the oil and combine the ingredients to make a sticky dough.

Now you can have some fun with it! Start the next step by sprinkling flour over whatever surface you’ll use to work on. Then, take the dough you’ve created and knead it for several minutes to create a ball. Put your ball of dough in a lightly-oiled bowl, then place a cloth over it and leave it to rest for about an hour minutes in a dry area.

After your dough has rested, it should be about twice the size as it was before. From here, put the ball on a pizza pan (or any pan that can accommodate the dough once stretched out) and roll it out into the shape of your pizza, either by hand or using a rolling pin. This will create a 12-inch thick pizza. If you want, you could even stretch the pizza out to make a thinner 16-inch pizza or cut it in half to make two smaller pizzas!

You’ll want to pinch the dough around the edges to create a border for your pizza. After this, you can do what you’ve no doubt been waiting to do and add toppings! Once the toppings are on, all that’s left is to bake your dough in your wood oven and enjoy your creation.

The key to a good pizza is in its dough.
